Yesterday was a holiday, so I started working at 8:30 AM to prepare for a chat. My task for today was to extract data from target programs. To accomplish this, I needed to learn about a specific tool.
Initially, I contacted my supervisor. However, he wasn't familiar with the tool either. We discussed the situation and decided to reach out to Mark, who has experience using it.
I messaged him on Teams, and he replied quickly.
"I should have created a document about this! Do you have time for a call? The procedure is simple, and it shouldn't take more than ten minutes."
Indeed, I felt that sharing screens would make the learning process smoother. However, I was concerned about communicating in English.
"I'm worried I might not be able to communicate fluently in English," I messaged him.
To which he responded, "Don't worry! I will type out captions and provide images."
Following the images he sent, I attempted to use the tool. However, I encountered some issues.
Time was running out. Given the situation, I decided to call him. I began studying English last year, and recently, I've become accustomed to conversing with English teachers. I've gained a bit of confidence.
So, I made the call.
